Step One - Vacation in the Hatch, fall in love
Off Duty Rentals was conceived when we went on vacation and fell in love. We just had to take the leap and look for a home of our own! If you were born and raised in Florida and are older than dirt, well over 40. You have seen this state go through a lot of growth and change. Steinhatchee offers you a chance to step back in time. This place reminds us of the "Old Florida" we grew up in. Retired from the Sheriff's Department we wanted to offer a place to rest, relax, unplug and enjoy. To first responders that is called being Off Duty! Our home has the Off Duty theme to honor and respect the professions that have most recently been under attack. No one fights alone as long as we all stand together!
Step Two - Buy a house
Fast forward, well not really fast after all it was 2020-2022. After looking and looking we finally found THE one for Off Duty Rentals. Off Duty Rentals, which had only been a dream had finally become a reality! We took the leap, bought this house, and headed down to Steinhatchee. Phase 1 had officially begun (stay tuned for phase 2, 3, 4 and... ). This house had been left empty for years and as our realtor told us it "had some deferred maintenance". No strangers to work, we rolled up our sleeves, pulled out the check book and credit cards and went to work. Our dream for Off Duty Rentals was slowly taking shape.
Step Three - Share with others
We are happy to report Off Duty Rentals vacation rental is ready for guests! We are so blessed to be able to have this home and welcome you, your family and friends. We invite you to be our guest. Clock out or rather go "Off Duty" and come over to enjoy the beauty of Steinhatchee. Our hope is that Off Duty Rentals offers you, your family, friends or coworkers a place to gather and create some amazing memories. Come enjoy food, fun, laughter and sometimes even tears. Enjoy the amazing fishing and scalloping that this area has to offer. Bring your golf cart or rent one here. There are so many great places to eat, drink, shop or just sit and watch the most amazing sunsets!

We have a beautiful dining table that seats 8-10. If you have a full house there is additional seating a few steps away in the screen porch. There you will find another table with seating for 4, patio set with seating for 6 and 2 rocking chairs. Still need more room? The outside BBQ area has another table and lots of chairs.

Our screen porch is great for that morning coffee or evening cocktail. There is a table for 4, patio set with seating for 6, 2 rocking chairs and Corn hole boards are also available for some friendly competition.

Conveniently located one block away from Off Duty Rentals is a public boat ramp. Drop the boat in the river, drive back to the house, park your truck and trailer then walk one block back to your boat!
